Cambodia, India enhance defence cooperation

Phnom Penh (VNA) –Indian warship INS Kamorta with 170 crew members on board recently docked atSihanoukville port for a visit to Cambodia.

The visit, taking place fromNovember 24-27, was an international naval activity in Cambodia’s waters,aiming to enhance bilateral relations between the two countries. It was also part of theactivities to commemorate 25 years of the ASEAN-India Dialogue, said IndianCommander Nithin Cariappa, adding that the visit was a signal of the realhistorical ties between the two nations. For his part, Cambodian AdmiralTea Vinh said the cooperation between Cambodia and India is moving forward,especially in exchanging experiences and strengthening maritime security in theregion. Since 2013, 15 Indian navy shipshave visited Cambodia in a bid to boost bilateral ties.-VNA
