Hanoi (VNA) - Cambodia launched a 10-year financial development strategy(2016 to 2025) on June 15 in a bid to maintaining macroeconomic stability andboosting economic growth.
Speakingat the launching ceremony, Cambodian Economy and Finance Minister AunPornmoniroth said the strategy has been the third update since the countryadopted its first financial development strategy in 2001.
He saiddeveloping the financial sector is one of the key priorities in the economicand financial policies of the Cambodian government, as it plays a crucial rolein maintaining macroeconomic stability and contributes to the long-term economicgrowth in the country.
Thecontinuous update of this strategy proves the Cambodian government’s commitmentto developing the financial sector based on market rules in order to provide afavourable environment for delivering financial services in Cambodia in amodern, diversified and efficient manner, the minister said.
Thestrategy is also aimed at supporting Cambodia’s sustainable and inclusiveeconomic growth, increasing living standards and social welfares of the peopleas well as meeting the need of regional economic and financial integration.-VNA
