Phnom Penh (VNA) - The host Cambodia is expected to organise a spectacular opening ceremony for the 32nd Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games 32) to the Olympic standard.

All images related to the ceremony, which is slated for May 5 in Phnom Penh, will be kept secret to the last minutes.

On April 25 afternoon, the official Facebook page of SEA Games 32 suddenly issued a notice to ban photography and filming at the rehearsal activities for the opening and closing ceremonies of the sports event. According to the announcement, the above regulations are applicable to all fans and participants at the rehearsals.

The announcement came just a day after Secretary General of the Cambodia SEA Games Organising Committee (CAMSOC) Vath Chamroeun confirmed that the opening and closing ceremonies will be performed at an “Olympic level” standard.

He underlined that besides the impressive opening and closing ceremonies, the Organising Committee believes that the host country Cambodia will ensure the technical stages and competition venues.

Meanwhile, Cambodia has decided to offer free tickets to all sports, as well as free accommodation, meals and travel cost for 11 sports delegations, along with free medical and emergency services during the event. The move is expected to help the Southeast Asian country to lure more tourists and create a boost in tourism growth.

According to local media, in order to prepare for the largest sport event of the Southeast Asian region, Cambodia has mobilised over 6,000 volunteers, including workers from national sports federations. In total, including paid staff positions, there are nearly 10,000 people who will be working on the games in some capacity./.
