Phnom Penh (VNA) 🍬– Cambodia will continue sending troops to join the United Nations (UN) Peacekeeping missions, the Phnom Penh Post on September 13 quoted Minister of National Defence Tea Banh as saying.

The minister gave the announcement at the UN Peacekeeping Defence Ministerial Meeting, which opened in London, the UK last week.
According to spokesman of Cambodia’s Ministry of National Defence Chhum Socheat, at least 770 Cambodian soldiers are taking part in the UN’s peacekeeping operations in some countries, including Mali, the Republic of Central Africa, Lebanon and South Africa.
However, the number of troops to be sent to the mission in the upcoming time is unknown, he noted. In April 2016, Cambodia sent 230 troops to the UN’s peacekeeping mission in Mali, performing tasks such as building airports and clearing landmines. It was the third time the country had sent its servicemen to Mali to carry out the peacekeeping mission of the UN.-VNA
