The coverage primarily relies on the press release of the Cambodian People’s Party (CPP), which detailed the outcomes of the recent high-level meeting between the Politburo of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) and the CPP’s Standing Committee. The meeting, co-chaired by General Secretary of the CPV Central Committee To Lam and CPP President and Senate President of Cambodia Hun Sen, and the Vietnam-Laos-Cambodia trilateral summit held in Ho Chi Minh City on February 21 and 22. According to local media reports, leaders of the three parties reaffirmed the strategic significance of their nations’ strong and enduring ties during the February 22 summit. The Khmer Times published an analysis by researcher Uch Leang, President of the Cambodia-Vietnam Alumni Association (CAVA) and Acting Director of the Department of Asian, African, and Middle-East Studies under the International Relations Institute of Cambodia at the Royal Academy of Cambodia (RAC). Underscoring the achievements in Vietnam-Cambodia relations and the solidarity among Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos and their parties, the author asserted that such ties have not only contributed to national liberation movements in each country but has also paved the way for strengthened cooperation among their parties and people in a new phase of development. Uch Leang highlighted the historical legacy of solidarity, mutual support, and cooperation among the three nations, describing it as an invaluable asset and a key pillar in their struggles for independence in the past and in their current efforts toward national protection and construction. He also called for continued work to educate future generations on preserving and fostering this sound trilateral relationship. The article concluded by stressing that the trilateral cooperation continues to be reinforced, marking a new era of development based on equality, mutual benefit, and effective collaboration. Meanwhile, the Kampuchea Thmey Daily published a commentary by veteran political journalist Vann Sokunthea, who underscores the deep-rooted ties among Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia. The author noted that their leaders share a common wish to enhance their relationship for the benefit of their people. Vann Sokunthea argued that the trilateral relationship has yielded significant achievements, particularly in economic development. The three nations’ economic progress is closely interlinked, the author added. The commentary also delved into the interdependent nature of Vietnam-Laos-Cambodia cooperation in economy, investment, tourism, energy, and security-defence. Vann Sokunthea concluded that their collaboration not only brings direct benefits to each country but also has a positive impact on the broader ASEAN region.
