The first flight left the Siem Reap international airport toBeijing at 19:35 (local time) on the same day, said Eng Molina, CAA’s marketingmanager. The CAA will operate three flights a week and use AirbusA320 with 180 seats on the route, the airline said in a press release. The new service to Beijing is the CAA’s fifth regularschedule flight to China, following routes between Phnom Penh/Siem Reap toGuangzhou and Shanghai. The move aims to respond to the rapid growth of Chinese touriststo Cambodia and make it easy for Beijing travellers to visit Siem Reap province,home to the well-known Angkor Wat. China is Cambodia’s second largest source of foreigntourists. In the first ten months of 2016, Cambodia welcomed over 653,000 Chinesevisitors, up 14 percent against the same period last year.-VNA
