Phnom Penh (VNA) – Prime Minister of Cambodia - ASEAN Chair 2022Samdech Techo Hun Sen has emphasised two mechanisms for crisis in Myanmar, afterconcluding his two-day official visit to the Southeast Asian nation late last week.

At the inauguration ceremony of Battambang-Serey Sophornroad portion on January 10, Hun Sen said the two important mechanisms arerelated to the ceasefire and humanitarian assistance to the people in needwithout discrimination.

For the ceasefire, he continued, at least a trio of Bruneias the former ASEAN Chair; Cambodia, the current Chair; Indonesia, the future Chair,plus the ASEAN Secretariat must be created in order to coordinate for aceasefire.

The provision of humanitarian assistance needs propermechanism, he added, underlining that assistance has arrived in Myanmar, buthas not been distributed yet.

Cambodia started working on the Myanmar’s crisis by thefirst and fourth points of the five-point consensus adopted by ASEAN leaders inJakarta, Indonesia in April last year.

♓ Hun Sen also called on Japan to be part of foreigndonors for this process and invited a former Japanese diplomat to be an advisorto the ASEAN Chair on the Myanmar’s crisis./.
