Accordingto the municipal Department of Public Health, local women will receivetraining on pre-natal and post-natal nutrition as well as childcaremethods.
Vaccination programmes for children will be sped up,Nguyen Thi Be Nam, Director of the Can Tho Reproductive HealthcareCentre said.
Can Tho is now home to 80,800 under-five-year-old children, making up 4 percent of the city’s population.
Can Tho and other 12 provinces form the Mekong Delta region, whichcovers a total area of around 40,000 square kilometres with a populationof 18 million and is a major aquaculture region and the largest riceproduction hub of Vietnam.-VNA
