Vientiane (VNA) – The Nguyen Du Lao-Vietnamese bilingual school has positioned itself as a prestigious education establishment, nurturing generations of Vietnamese and Lao students while preserving Vietnamese culture and language as well as strengthening the special bonds between the two countries, according to a diplomat.
Speaking at the closing ceremony for the 2024-2025 academic year, held in Vientiane on June 23, Vietnamese Ambassador Nguyen Minh Tam praised the school’s recent achievements, citing students' significant academic progress, securing multiple awards across various grades.
He commended the management and teaching innovations implemented by the school's leaders and teachers, while calling on relevant agencies to continue supporting improvements in education quality, infrastructure development, and maintaining a safe learning environment for students.
🍸 The school’s principal, Nguyen Thi Thanh Huong, stated that the institution has actively promoted academic excellence, culture, sports, arts, and charitable activities. It has engaged in bilateral social programmes organised by both countries, including fundraising campaigns supporting flood-affected communities and the homeland’s seas and islands./.
Nearly 200 Lao doctoral candidates, master’s students and undergraduate students are studying and conducting research within the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics (HCMA)’s system.
Vietnam’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Lao Party Central Committee's External Relations Commission committed to jointly developing a cooperation agreement for the 2026–2030 period; ensuring thorough preparations for high-level diplomatic activities and cooperation mechanisms; and intensifying information exchange and experience sharing in Party building and preparations for each country’s Party Congress.
Secretary of the CPV Central Committee and chief of its office Le Hoai Trung and his Lao counterpart Thongsalith Mangnomek informed each other about the situation of each Party and country. They also touched upon cooperation results between the two offices over the past time and orientations for the time ahead.
The event, the 12th of its kind jointly, was jointly organised by the Vietnamese Embassy in Belgium and Chris Geyskens, Chairwoman of the Belgium chapter of the Hoi An – Vietnam Association for Victims of AO/Dioxin.

At a review conference held on June 21, Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Van Sinh praised the province’s scientific, coordinated, and flexible approach.
