A two-minute video titled "The Mekong River Goes Through ASEAN Community" made by Can Tho University's Delta Youth Initiative about the importance of conserving the rich bio-diversity of the river won the first prize in the 2015 ASEAN Youth Video Contest.
The second and third prizes went to Philippine and Myanmarese youths.
They will be invited to make a presentation at the ASEAN Summit to be held in November in Kuala Lumpur.
The contest required competitors to make videos on "What Does the ASEAN Community Mean to Youth."
Launched at the beginning of this year with support from the US Mission to ASEAN, the ASEAN Foundation, and Singapore's National Youth Council, it attracted 77 videos made by youths from ASEAN member countries.-VNA
Vietnam’s Mekong Delta has been chosen among the 10 best-value destinations for 2015 by Rough Guides, a British publisher of travel and reference guides.
The Mekong Delta welcomed 2.2 million tourists and earned over 508 billion VND (24.2 million USD) in the first month of 2015 according to the provincial Tourism Association.

The U23 competition will run from June 16 to 22, followed by the U17 event from June 23 to 28, while athletes competing in the U23 category will undergo weight and skill checks ahead of the matches starting June 18, while similar checks for U17 athletes will take place before June 23.
