Hanoi (VNA) – The Ministry of Education and Training has provided about 1.5 billion VND (67,155 USD) and educational equipment for flood-hit provinces in the central region.
Particularly, Quang Binh received 600 million VND; Thua Thien-Hue, 210 million VND, including textbooks and educational materials worth 150 million VND; Ha Tinh, 200 VND and 100 sets of textbooks; and Nghe An, 100 million VND and 100 sets of textbooks.
Minister of Education and Training Phung Xuan Nha and his entourage visited the provinces and handed over assistance to local schools and education and training departments.

As of October 17, more than 100,000 houses and a huge areas of crop were submerged due to widespread flood hitting central provinces of Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh and Quang Tri.
Individuals and organisations nationwide across the country continue sending cash and kind to support locals in the central region in overcoming the consequences of recent floods.
The British Business Group Vietnam (BBGV) will hold the second Fun Run for Charity at the Ecopark urban area in the northern province of Hung Yen on November 6 to raise money for flood victims.
President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan affirmed that all donations to flood victims in central region will be delivered to the target localities.
