Hanoi (VNA)🍸 – ChinesePresident Xi Jinping met with Lao Prime Minister Thongloun Sisoulith in Beijingon December 1, vowing to deepen the comprehensive strategic cooperativepartnership between the two countries.

At the meeting, President Xi laudedthe development of China-Laos ties since the establishment of diplomaticrelations 55 years ago. He proposedpromoting close exchanges between leaders of both countries on major issues. The Chinese President affirmed thatBeijing is willing to bolster exchanges and cooperation with Laos in mattersincluding security and law enforcement as well as to strengthen coordination with the Southeast Asian nation in frameworks like China-ASEAN cooperation, the Lancang-Mekong cooperationmechanism and the United Nations. The Lao Prime Minister spoke highlyof China’s role in maintaining regional peace and stability, saying Laos iscommitted to deepening ties between the two countries’ parties and states. Laos will work closely with China onregional and international affairs and promote stronger ASEAN-China relations,he added. Prime Minister Thongloun Sisoulithis visiting China at the invitation of his Chinese counterpart Li Keqiang.-VNA
