Chinaalso hopes to share experience and scientific-technological applications infarming with the locality, while joining hands in the control of food safetyand hygiene, and diseases in the husbandry sector, the official said at aworking session with municipal leaders.
TheChinese side stands ready to transfer high technologies in agriculturalproduction, processing and distribution to Can Tho, and organise trainingcourses for local agricultural officials, farmers and faming households withthe participation of Chinese experts, he said.
WuJun noted that the Chinese authorities will encourage and create conditions forbig Chinese agricultural businesses to study the investment environment in CanTho, helping to increase direct investments in the city and its adjacentlocalities.
Chinahas considered Can Tho, which has been seen as an economic driver of the MekongDelta region, a fertile land for investors, he added.
Theofficial also highlighted China’s wish to enhance partnerships ineducation-training, culture and tourism with Can Tho.
TruongQuang Hoai Nam, Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee, agreed withWu Jun’s proposals, stressing that cooperation with China is one of the keytasks set in investment attraction and sustainable economic developmentstrategies of Can Tho and the Mekong Delta in general.
Theofficial expressed his hope that the Chinese Consulate General will assist CanTho in organising regular meetings with Chinese investors and businesses tocreate more opportunities for the city to promote its potential, strength andcooperation demand with partners.
CanTho will make all-out efforts to improve the investment environment and reformadministrative procedures at all levels, making it easier for Chinese firms tooperate in the locality, he said.
