Exhibitions to mark 40 years since Quang Ngai liberation

An exhibition on the province’s 21-year struggle against the UnitedStates showcases around 200 photos, documents and objects representingthe milestones and victories as well as sacrifices and losses of localsduring the war.
Meanwhile, a collection of 2,500books has been on display in Pham Van Dong Square, Quang Ngai City topresent four decades of provincial rebuilding and development.
The books offer insight into the history of the local Communist PartyCommitte, geography of the province and its districts over time,outstanding community members and rebuilding and socio-economicdevelopment during the period.
The same day,Student Week was kicked off in several local museums, including theprovincial General Museum, Ba To Museum, Van Tuong Museum and late PrimeMinister Pham Van Dong’s Memorial House to welcome local pupils andstudents who wish to learn about their roots.
Some 5,000 pupils and students are expected to turn out for the week-long event running from March 23-30.-VNA

The programme on sustainable poverty reduction has achieved its annual targets for reducing the poverty rate as assigned by the National Assembly and the Government. It has fulfilled five specific objectives and five five-year goals, and met nine out of 12 indicators related to addressing basic social service shortages.

At a review conference held on June 21, Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Van Sinh praised the province’s scientific, coordinated, and flexible approach. He noted that the early completion reflects the strong commitment of local authorities, the business community, philanthropists, and residents in improving housing conditions for disadvantaged groups.
The VNA delegation, led by General Director Vu Viet Trang, actively participated in the event, engaging in both professional and diplomatic activities.
