Vientiane (VNA) – As many as 20,000 medical face masks were presented to the Vietnamese community inLaos during a ceremony held in Vientiane capital on June 30.
Speaking at thehandover ceremony, Vu Tu Oanh, a counsellor at the Embassy of Vietnam said thatthe gift was sent by the Vietnamese Government as the COVID-19 pandemic isdealing a blow to the lives of people in Laos, including Vietnamese.
It reflects thesentiments towards overseas Vietnamese, including those who are living inLaos, as they are an inseparable part of the country, Oanh said.
In addition, the PrimeMinister has approved to assist 40,000 USD from Vietnam’s COVID-19prevention and control fund for Vietnamese people in Laos, according to Oanh.
Chairman of theGeneral Association of Vietnamese in Laos Nguyen Duy Trung expressed hisgratitude to the Party, State and people of Vietnam, pledging to distribute theaid to all people in need.
