Hanoi (VNA) – Some 90foreign diplomats and representatives from internationalorganisations, non-governmental organisations and cultural centres, learnedabout Vietnam in a session hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Hanoion January 25.
They got to know more about thecountry’s culture, history and economic achievements together with itspriorities and policies for 2018, towards 2020.
The session “Learn about Vietnam” was held when Tet, the Lunar New Year festivalof Vietnamese, is approaching, with a view to giving the foreigners a betterunderstanding of Vietnam’s traditions, said Pham Sanh Chau, Assistant Ministerfor Foreign Affairs and Special Representative of the Prime Minister on UNESCOAffairs.
The event is expected to boostfriendship and cooperation between Vietnam and other countries, he added.
About 200 foreign diplomats take upnew missions in Vietnam every year. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs hosted the “Learnabout Vietnam” event annually since 2015 to provide them deeper insights intolife in Vietnam.-VNA

He also pledged that the NA will promote its ongoing supervision, making sure that every promise must lead to results, and every commitment must bring about real changes.
Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien welcomed the proposals put forward by the US side and reiterated Vietnam’s request for consideration of key areas of interest, including reciprocal tariff policies and access for Vietnamese key export products to the US market.
