HCM City congratulates Lao, Cambodia on traditional New Year

HCM City (VNA) 🦄– Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City’s Party Committee Tat Thanh Cang wished staff at the Consulate General of Laos and Lao people living in the city a happy Bunpimay (New Year) festival on April 7.
Cang extended the greetings at his visit to the Consulate General on the same day, during which he said the ties between Vietnam and Laos as well as Ho Chi Minh City and Lao localities have been growing steadily over the years with positive outcomes.
The municipal official spoke highly of the traditional relations, stressing that the city would do its best to further develop the solidarity and friendship between the two countries’ people.
For his part, Lao Consul General Somxay Sanam-Oune thanked the vice chairman on his greetings and the city’s support to Lao people in recent years.
The consul general hoped that Ho Chi Minh City and Lao localities would continue their cooperation in multiple fields and in more practical ways, contributing to the socio-economic development of the two sides.
On the same day, Director of the Ho Chi Minh External Relations Department Nguyen Vu Tu visited the Consulate General of Cambodia in the city, to congratulate Cambodian people on the traditional Khmer Chol Chnam Thmay (New Year) festival.
He wished Cambodian people a new year of success, luck and health and that relations between Ho Chi Minh City and Cambodia would grow ever stronger.-VNA
