Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán concludes Vietnam visit

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán on September 26 concluded a successful official visit to Vietnam as guest of his Vietnamese counterpart Nguyen Xuan Phuc.

Hanoi  (VNA)-Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán on September 26 concluded a successful officialvisit to Vietnam as guest of his Vietnamese counterpart Nguyen Xuan Phuc.

During the visit from September24 to 26, the Hungarian Government leader held talks with PM Phuc, and hadmeetings with Party Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, President TranDai Quang and National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan. The PM alsoattended the Vietnam-Hungary business forum and laid a wreath at the Monumentof War Heroes and Fallen Soldiers.

During the talks and meetings,the two sides agreed to instruct their ministries and agencies to activelyimplement outcomes reached at the 7th meeting of the Joint Committeeon Economic Cooperation held in Budapest last March.

Vietnam welcomed the increase ofHungary’s scholarships for Vietnamese students to 200 each year from the nextacademic year.

The two sides reached consensusin accelerating the signing of an MoU on defence cooperation between theirdefence ministries.

They applauded the signing of severaldocuments on bilateral cooperation on information and communication technology,culture, agriculture and vocational training during the visit.

[Vietnam, Hungary issue joint statement]

The two countries reached agreementto increase consultation and coordination at international and regionalorganizations and forums, particularly the United Nations, the Asia-EuropeMeeting and the Mekong-Danube cooperation mechanism, as well as in addressingglobal issues.

The two PMs also co-chaired ajoint press conference and issued a joint statement on the occasion of theHungarian PM’s visit.-VNA
