IMF praises Indonesia’s strong economy

International Monetary Fund (IMF) Managing Director Christine Lagarde has praised Indonesia’s strong economy with good prospects in the years to come, according to Antara news agency.

Jakarta (VNA) – International Monetary Fund(IMF) Managing Director Christine Lagarde has praised Indonesia’s strongeconomy with good prospects in the years to come, according to Antara newsagency.

She made the statement after a meeting withIndonesian President Joko Widodo on February 26 to discuss current economicdevelopment, Indonesia’s prospect and preparations for the annual IMF-WorldBank meeting in Bali in October.

At the meeting, Lagarde praised President JokoWidodo and his cabinet for their economic management and policies.

"We have also discussed the importance ofachieving high economic growth to create jobs and support working generationthat keeps growing," she said.

She added to meet the goal, revenues must beused to support development spending and continue reform of products, manpowerand financial market.

Regarding the preparation for the annual IMF-WorldBank meeting in October, Lagarde thanked all parties for their cooperation sofar in preparing the event.-VNA
