Hanoi (VNA) – Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto and King of Jordan Abdullah II witnessed the signing of three cooperation memoranda of understanding (MoUs) across agriculture, education and religious affairs and one defence cooperation pact in Amman on April 14.
Meeting with Subianto, King Abdullah II underscored Indonesia's important role in promoting international peace and stability, while reaffirming Jordan’s religious and historical responsibility for safeguarding Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.
Subianto, in turn, reiterated Indonesia’s solidarity with Jordan in defending the rights of the Palestinian people and reaffirmed Jakarta’s support for the establishment of a Palestinian State.
They also discussed urgent steps to end the violence between Israel and Hamas, calling for the restoration of a ceasefire, the continuation of humanitarian aid to Gaza, and support for Palestinians to remain in their homeland.
Subianto expressed hope for closer bilateral cooperation for the mutual benefit of the Indonesian and Jordanian people./.
