Indonesia pushes for implementation of Five-Point Consensus on Myanmar
Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi said on April 5 that over the past three months, as ASEAN 2023 Chair, Indonesia has been pushing for the implementation of the ASEAN Leaders' Five-Point Consensus (5PC) on Myanmar.

Jakarta (VNA) - Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudisaid on April 5 that over the past three months, as ASEAN 2023 Chair, Indonesiahas been pushing for the implementation of the ASEAN Leaders' Five-PointConsensus (5PC) on Myanmar.
Speaking at a pressconference, Marsudi said Indonesia had the first meetings with special envoys ofthe United Nations Secretary-General, neighboring country Myanmar and othernations, with the main purpose of promoting coordination and collectivestrength while continuing to reinforce ASEAN's central role.
Indonesia also reporteddevelopments related to Myanmar, especially the implementation of the 5PC tothe UN Security Council in a closed meeting on March 13, during which memberstates expressed their strong support for Indonesia's role as ASEAN Chair, ASEAN'scentral role, and the 5PC, she said.
According to her, Indonesiaalso facilitated the resumption of communication and consultation with relevantparties so that the ASEAN Coordinating Centre for Humanitarian Assistance onDisaster Management (AHA) could distribute humanitarian aid to the people ofMyanmar, regardless of ethnicity, religion, and political orientation.
Marsudi promised that Indonesia will continue with efforts to facilitate inclusivedialogue and put an end to the use of violence, as well as allow immediatehumanitarian assistance. Indonesia will also maintain efforts to build trustand act as a "bridge" to eliminate differences between all parties involved.
The 5-Point Consensus, adopted by ASEAN leaders in April 2021 tosupport stability in Myanmar and its effective engagement in ASEAN cooperation and community building, includes agreed-upon points such as ending violence, holding constructivedialogue among all par🍰ties involved, providing humanitarian assistance forMyanmar, appointing an ASEAN Special Envoy to facilitate talks, and allowingASEAN Special Envoy to visit Myanmar./.
