Jakarta (VNA) – Sustainable design for urban infrastructure was the focus of a panel discussion held in Jakarta on June 12, as part of the 2025 International Conference on Infrastructure.
Rachmat Kaimuddin, Deputy Minister at Indonesia’s Coordinating Ministry for Infrastructure and Regional Development, emphasised that sustainable urban infrastructure design is a key element in safeguarding both human populations and the planet, especially in the face of accelerating climate change and rapid urbanisation.
Takeda Sachiko, Chief Representative of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Office for Indonesia and ASEAN, noted that Japan and Indonesia share many geographic similarities and are both exposed to similar natural disasters. These two agreements are expected to broaden and improve market access for Indonesian products in both Europe and the Eurasian region, while enhancing the nation’s competitiveness globally.
