Jakarta (VNA)🐠 – President of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Trade Roeslani Rosan has worried that US President-elect Donald Trump will implement policies leading to increasing protectionism.

He raised the concern during his meeting with a representative from the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) in Jakarta on November 16, according to Tempo website of Indonesia.
The AmCham representative informed that trade agreements including the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement (TPP) will be reviewed under the Trump administration. However, he noted that there is no need for Indonesia to worry about the new trade policies of the US President-elect.
Earlier, Director of the Centre of Reform on Economics Indonesia (Core) Mohammad Faisal said that the US will be more protective in conducting its trade regulations under Donald Trump’s leadership as indicated in his statements during his campaign. Regarding the TPP, Faisal viewed that Hillary and Trump share the same displeasure about the agreement. But Trump would be even harder in establishing policies regarding TPP. Therefore, the United States’ policies will be hunted by other members, he said.-VNA
