Jakarta (VNA) – Indonesian President Joko Widodo is going to pay avisit to Malaysia during which he will hold an annual consultationwith Prime Minister Najib Razak in Kuching, the capital of the eastern Malaysianstate of Serawak, on November 22.
ANTARA news agency reported on November 18 that the Indonesian Presidentwill be accompanied by Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi and Arrmanatha Nasir,spokesman for the Foreign Ministry.
The two leaders will discuss a range of issues of shared concern, includingthose related to border, security and defence, as well as measures to fostereconomic cooperation.
The two sides are expected to release an initiative to set up a council of palm oil producing countries.
The initiative is aimed at fighting the negative campaign against theIndonesian palm oil industry by the European Union, which has accused Indonesiaof destroying the environment and health.
The palm oil output of Indonesia and Malaysia accounts for 82 percnet of theworld figure, with a value of over 13.6 billion USD.
In addition, the two leaders will also look into the placement andprotection of Indonesian migrant workers employed in Malaysia, as well as themanagement of the agricultural sector in the border areas.-VNA
