Japan provides non-refundable aid for six projects in Vietnam
The Consulate General of Japan in Ho Chi Minh City held a ceremony on March 20 to ink contracts on the granting of the country’s non-refundable assistance to social welfare projects in six Vietnamese localities.

HCM City (VNA) – The ConsulateGeneral of Japan in Ho Chi Minh City held a ceremony on March 20 to inkcontracts on the granting of the country’s non-refundable assistance to socialwelfare projects in six Vietnamese localities.
The projects, worth more than 483,270 USD,will be launched in the provinces of Binh Phuoc, Kien Giang, Long An and BacLieu in the south and Dak Lak and Dak Nong provinces in the Central Highlands.
They are to build rehabilitation facultyand provide medical equipment, medical waste treatment system and laboratoryequipment for the provinces, along with building schools and working facilitiesfor the blind.
Projects to supply clean water and build fiveclassrooms for elementary students are also included in the assistance.
According to the Japanese office, theprojects will be promptly implemented to help local children and people accessmodern healthcare conditions, clean water, education and waste treatmenttowards environmentally protection, as well as support sight-impaired people.

Since 1995, non-refundable assistance ofthe Japanese Government totalling over 15.51 million USD has provided supportfor 194 local-level projects across 26 provinces and cities of Vietnam,including those in education, healthcare, agriculture and ruralinfrastructure.-VNA
The World Bank (WB) is willing to cooperate and support Vietnam in infrastructure development, and wants to share Vietnam’s experience with other countries in this sphere, said WB Vice President for Infrastructure Makhtar Diop.
