Japanese PM wishes to help Vietnam with human resources training

Hanoi (VNA) – JapanesePrime Minister Shinzo Abe has expressed his desire to assist Vietnam inimplementing managerial personnel training projects.

“Human resources training is veryimportant,” Abe said during a meeting with Politburo member, Secretary of theParty Central Committee and head of the committee’s Organisation CommissionPham Minh Chinh in Hanoi on January 17.

He spoke highly of the intensiveand practical cooperation between the friendship parliamentary groups of thetwo countries, which he said has contributed to enhancing the Vietnam-Japanrelations.

Pham Minh Chinh, who is alsoChairman of the Vietnam-Japan Friendship Parliamentarians’ Group, showed hispleasure with the thriving ties between the two nations with high politicaltrust and growing collaboration in security-defence, economy, agrulculture andlocal exchange.

Appreciating the activitiesof the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentary Alliance, Chinh said he hopesthat the Japanese PM will continue supporting the two groups in theiroperations to make active contributions to developing Vietnam-Japan relations.

He also hoped for Abe’s assistance for Vietnam in human resources training andadministrative reform.

The same day, the Japaneseleader had a meeting with President of Hanoi-based Vietnam National University(VNU) Nguyen Kim Son, and lecturers and students from the VNU’s Vietnam-JapanUniversity.

Son proposed the PM promoteofficial development assistance (ODA) investment in building the Vietnam-JapanUniversity as well as its organisational, operational and financialregulations.

Abe underlined the universityas an important cooperation project between Vietnam and Japan, which isexpected to train high-quality human resources for both countries.

Students will be young and futurehuman resources of Vietnam, he said, calling them to contribute to thedevelopment of the bilateral relations./.
