Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnamese Ministerof Justice Le Thanh Long and his Cuban counterpart Oscar Manuel Silvera Martinezshared experience in law building, perfection, and enforcement during theirtalks in Hanoi on June 16.

The host official said that to theVietnamese people, solidarity and friendship with Cuba is an order from theirheart and mind. Vietnam always treasures the Cuban Party, State, and people’sextremely valuable solidarity and support for its national liberation andrevolutionary path.

The Vietnamese Ministry of Justice isready to share experience in law building, perfection, and enforcement with itsCuban peer, he noted.

At the event, the two sides agreed onconcrete cooperation activities in different areas, including drafting and verifyinglegal documents, applying information technology to the ministries’ activities,judicial support, and personnel training.

Both ministers agreed to order theirministries’ relevant units to promote the implementation of the letter ofintent on a technical assistance project for the Cuban Justice Ministry, signedduring Long’s visit to Cuba in December 2022, so that the project willcontribute to legal and judicial reform in each country.

During his working visit from June 9to 19, apart from the meetings with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and NationalAssembly Vice Chairman Nguyen Khac Dinh, the Cuban minister has and will engagein sessions with leaders of the Supreme People’s Court, the Supreme People’sProcuracy, the Vietnam Bar Federation, and the People’s Committee of Hai Phongcity.

This is his second trip to Vietnam,following the first in 2019. It takes place amid the 60th anniversary of the Cuban Committee for Solidarity with South Vietnam (September25, 1963) and 50 years since then Cuban leader Fidel Castro visited Vietnamand the liberated zone in South Vietnam (September 15, 1973)./.
