Vientiane (VNA) - The Health Ministry ofLaos is confident that the country will complete the goal of vaccination for at least 50 percent of the population this year.
At a press conference on July 15, the ministry said Laos will receive over 1 million doses of Johnson & Johnson's vaccine, funded by the US through the COVAX Facility, and hundreds of thousands of doses of AstraZeneca's vaccine in the coming days.
The country registered 116 new COVID-19infections and one fatality in the last 24 hours, of which two were locally-transmitted and the rest were imported cases.
