Laos applies compulsory quarantine to people having close contact with COVID-19 patients

Vientiane (VNA) - TheLao Ministry of Health said on June 15 that compulsory quarantine will be applied to those who have close contact with confirmed COVID-19 patients.
The quarantine will be at designated quarantine facilities or hotels due to complicateddevelopments of the pandemic.

On the same day, the ministry said Laos logged 15 new casesof COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, raising the national tally to 2,025. Of the new cases, six are domestic and nine are imported cases.

Laos received 500,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccine from Chinaon June 15, making the total number of vaccine doses that Beijing has given to Laos to 1.9million doses.
Through the COVAX Facility, Laos has also received 100,620 doses of Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine and the additional shipment will arrive in Laosin the third quarter of this year./.
