The drug control and supervision unit in Oudomxayprovince reported that police partnered with soldiers and local authorities toraid eight houses in Xay district after receiving a tip-off about the productionof drugs. They also confiscated money, machines used in making drug, vehicles and other items.
The drug haul is the largest in Laos so far this year and is the resultof a police crackdown on drug production and trade in Oudomxay. In May, policearrested a man after finding more than 1 million amphetamine pills and 48 bagsof drug precursor chemicals in the vehicle he was driving./.
