Hanoi (VNA) – Legislatorsdiscussed in groups outcomes of the implementation of the socio-economicdevelopment plan and State budget in 2017 at the National Assembly (NA)’sfourth session on October 24 morning.

They also scrutinised the socio-economic development plan, State budgetestimate and allocation for 2018 and the State finance-budget plan for2018-2020.

In the afternoon, Phan Xuan Dung, member of the NA Standing Committee andChairman of the NA’s Committee for Science, Technology and Environment,presented a report on adjustments to the revised Law on Forest Protection andDevelopment based on collected opinions.

The deputies then gave opinions tocontentious contents of the bill, focusing on the renaming of the document to theLaw on Forestry, forest lease, rights and obligations of forest owners,forestry development policy, forestry product processing and trading, Statemanagement on forestry and responsibility of forest rangers.

At the working session, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc presented a proposal on relieving Minister of TransportTruong Quang Nghia and Government Inspector General Phan Van Sau of theirduties for the 2016-2021 tenure.

After hearing the proposal, the lawmakers worked in groups to debate thedismissal of the posts.

They are scheduled to examine the draft Planning Law on October 25 morning. Inthe afternoon, they will make personnel decisions and hear proposals andreports on the draft Law on Protection of State Secret and the draft Law onCyber Security, and continue to work on personnel matters.-VNA
