Hanoi (VNA) – Indonesia has found the missingcockpit voice recorder from a Lion Air jet that crashed into the Java Sea inlate October, killing all 189 people on board.
Deputy chief of Indonesia's transport safety committee HaryoSatmiko said on January 14 that information about its location remainsunavailable.
The Indonesian budget carrier’s flight JT610 crashed intoJava waters several minutes after take off from Jakarta on October 29.
On November 1, a search and rescue team found the flight’sdata recorder.
The plane isbelieved to have crashed into the sea from the height of over 1,000m and at aspeed of about 640km per hour.
Lion Air spent2.6 million USD to seek the second black box, including hiring the Netherlands’MPV Everest vessel. The bodies of 64 victims remain unaccounted for.
