Kuala Lumpur (VNA) – The Malaysian opposition coalition, Pakatan Harapan, has chosenformer Prime Minister (PM) Mahathir Mohamad to run for the position again inthe upcoming general election.

It was also agreed that Wan AzizahWan Ismail, wife of former Deputy PM Ibrihim Anwar, would run for deputy PM.

The decision was made during the coalition’srecent two-day retreat in Putraya.

Mahathir Mohamad, 92, served as Malaysia'sprime minister for 22 years from 1981 until 2003. He currently chairs theopposition alliance.-VNA
