Malaysia will launch a national policy on the fourth Industrial Revolution (National 4IR Policy) on July 1 in order to drive the integrated efforts in transforming the socio-economic development through the use of advanced technology.

Kuala Lumpur (VNA) – Malaysia will launch a national policy on thefourth Industrial Revolution (National 4IR Policy) on July 1 in order to drivethe integrated efforts in transforming the socio-economic development throughthe use of advanced technology.

The policy will prepare the main principle guidelines andstrategic direction for ministries and agencies in drafting their policiesand action plans to optimise the resource distribution and implementationcoordination in matters relating to emerging technologies which will benefitthe people, public and private sector.

This policy will support the country’s development policiessuch as Shared Prosperity Vision 2030 and Five-year Malaysia Plans.

It also complements the Malaysia Digital Economy Blueprintin driving the digital economy development. The strategies and initiativesunder National 4IR Policy will be governed by the Digital Economy Council andNational 4IR Policy, chaired by the Prime Minister, according to a statementfrom the Economic Planning Unit in the Prime Minister’s Office./.
