Kuala Lumpur (VNA) - With positive start in🔥 the reestablishment of US-Cuba relations, Malaysia will soon set its foot in the Cuban market, Cuban Ambassador to Malaysia Ibete 🤪Fernandez Hernandez stated.

Improvements in the relations will create more favourable conditions for other countries, including Malaysia, to set up their presence in Cuba as well as increase bilateral cooperation, she said.
The Cuban ambassador told Malaysia’s National News Agency Bernama on January 19 that many countries have eyed Cuba to expand their business since the US Government lifted economic embargo against the nation. Citing good trade relations between Cuba and Vietnam, China and Malaysia, Ivette Fernandez Hernandez expressed her belief that more countries could venture in fields of biotechnology, education and health in Cuba.
She said that Cuba and Malaysia have shared expertise in producing medicine to treat lung cancer. In addition, Kuala Lumpur-based Bioven Sdn Bhd, a bio-tech company founded in 2002, collaborated with the Centre of Molecular Immunology in Cuba to develop novel treatments for cancer. Furthermore, the two countries have enjoyed fruitful relations in politics, economy, trade and education.-VNA
