Kuala Lumpur (VNA)🌄 – The Malaysian Government affirmed on July 17 that it will continue efforts to find a full and satisfactory explanation for the Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17 tragedy, which was shot down over eastern Ukraine two years ago.

Prime Minister Najib Razak said that it was a criminal act that outraged the world and caused the loss of all 298 lives aboard.
Meanwhile, Transport Minister Liow Tiong Lai said that Malaysia is committed to bringing the criminals to justice. With the Joint Investigation Team's criminal investigations ongoing, the Government hoped to receive the preliminary conclusion on the forensic research, including the type of weapons used and other pertinent details, later this year, he added.
The Boeing B777 aircraft, with 298 people abroad, was shot down over eastern Ukraine on July 17, 2014, while en route from Amsterdam, the Netherlands, to Kuala Lumpur. In October 2015, chairman of Dutch Safety Board Tjibbe Joustra confirmed that MH17 was shot down by a Russian-made Buk surface-to-air missile over eastern Ukraine. The report came out after 15 months of investigations undertaken by a joint investigation team from the Netherlands, Ukraine, Malaysia, Australia, the United Kingdom, the United States and Russia.-VNA
