Prime Minister Najib Razak said that it was a criminal act that outraged the world and caused the loss of all 298 lives aboard.
Meanwhile, Transport Minister Liow Tiong Lai said that Malaysia is committed to bringing the criminals to justice.
With the Joint Investigation Team's criminal investigations ongoing, the Government hoped to receive the preliminary conclusion on the forensic research, including the type of weapons used and other pertinent details, later this year, he added.
The Boeing B777 aircraft, with 298 people abroad, was shot down over eastern Ukraine on July 17, 2014, while en route from Amsterdam, the Netherlands, to Kuala Lumpur.
