As reported by Malaysia’s national news agency Bernama, Ipsos Malaysia's managing director Arun Menon noted that about two out of three Malaysians said they are interested in the games, which is much higher than the average of 57% across all countries surveyed.

“Eight out of 10 Malaysians view it as an opportunity of unity, pride and an inspiration for future generations to engage in sports,” he said as quoted by the news agency.
