Military gala night features Vietnam-Cambodia ties

Attending the eventwas Major General Le Hien Van, Vice Chairman of the General Department ofPolitics under the Vietnam People’s Army, Major General Du Truong Giang, ViceCommander of Military Zone 7, Im Hen, Cambodia’s Consul General in Ho Chi MinhCity, and nearly 3,000 young soldiers and officials from Military Zone 7, YouthUnion of HCM City’s District 12.
Addressing the event,Major General Le Hien Van said that Vietnam and Cambodia, sharing the MekongRiver, have enjoyed close neighbourliness. Through ups and downs in history, thetwo countries have always stood shoulder to shoulder and shared both hardshipand success in fighting common enemies for national independence, and overthrowingthe Pol Pot genocidal regime, as well as national building and development, hestated.
Major General Vanstressed that the gala night aims to educate the young generations of both sideson the need to treasure, inherit and promote the Vietnam-Cambodia traditionalfriendship and solidarity.
