Military University of Culture and Arts asked to contribute more to national cultural development

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh urged the Hanoi-based Military University of Culture and Arts to play a more active role in preserving and developing the traditional culture sustainably while visiting the university on January 31.

Hanoi (VNA) – Prime Minister Pham MinhChinh urged the Hanoi-based Military University of Culture and Arts to play amore active role in preserving and developing the traditional culturesustainably while visiting the university on January 31.  

The PM highlighted the Party’s guidelines andpolicies on culture which has significantly contributed to the struggle for nationalliberation in the past, as well as the present rapid, sustainable nationaldevelopment.

The Vietnam People’s Army (VPA) is a pioneer in culturalpreservation and promotion, he said, adding that the university has played arole in the development of culture and arts of the army and the country as well.

Pointing to a host of challenges to culturalconservation, Chinh asked the university to thoroughly grasp the Party’sviewpoint that culture is the spiritual foundation of society, theobjective, the intrinsic strength, and the important momentum for the nation tomove ahead.

The educational institution was also urged to organisehigh-quality, modern art programmes, and produce more art works with high valuesin terms of ideology, arts and culture, contributing to promoting Vietnameseculture abroad.

The leader also emphasised the importance ofinformation-technology and digital transformation to teaching, saying theuniversity should pay more attention to the training of teachers and managers,and Party building.

Over the past nearly 70 years, the university has strivedto overcome difficulties to complete the task of training artists and musiciansfor the army.

It trained nearly 5,000 students over the past decade,and compiled and published hundreds of documents on culture and arts over thepast five years./.
