- The National Assembly (NA) Standing Committee will convene its 34th session in Hanoi from June 11-13, announced the NA Office.

- Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on June 10 asked for more drastic implementation of the project on developing resident data, electronic identification and authentication applications to serve national digital transformation in the 2022-2025 period, with a vision to 2030 (Project 06), and for promoting data connection and sharing to serve e-commerce development and improve tax management, thus bringing concrete and practical benefits to people and businesses.

Addressing an online conference to review the one-year realisation of the PM’s directions in this regard, PM Chinh hailed ministries, sectors and localities’ efforts to remove the bottlenecks in regulation, technological infrastructure, data, security, safety and resources to facilitate the project. - Politburo member and permanent member of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat Luong Cuong received a delegation from the Dominican Republic’s United Left Movement (MIU) Party led by its General Secretary and Minister of Regional Integration Policies of the Dominican Republic Miguel Mejia in Hanoi on June 10.

- An aeromedical evacuation training course opened in Hanoi on June 10, aiming to equip a key team from Vietnam's Level-2 Field Hospital Rotation 6 with knowledge and skills necessary for successful participation in the United Nations peacekeeping operations.

In his opening speech, Col. Luu Dinh Hien, Commander of the Training Centre of the Vietnam Department of Peacekeeping Operations, said it is the 5th training course of its kind supported by Australia for Vietnam's Level-2 Field Hospital rotations. Read full story

- The gross domestic product (GDP) growth of six ASEAN countries - Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam - will recover to 4.5% and 4.7% in 2024 and 2025, respectively, from 4% in 2023, according to Maybank Research Pte Ltd forecast.

In a report 'ASEAN Frontiers: The New Trailblazers', researchers from Maybank said the recovery in GDP growth will be driven by manufacturing and exports, particularly electronics, which are supporting a modest growth recovery in the first half of the year. Read full story
