Siem Reap (VNA) – National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Nganmet with Prime Minister Hun Sen in Siem Reap, Cambodia on January 15 on thesidelines of the 27th Annual Meeting of the Asia-PacificParliamentary Forum (APPF-27).
Chairwoman Ngan expressed her impression with Cambodia’s preparations for theevent as well as the country’s warm welcome given to participants, showing herbelief that the APPF-27 will be successful.
She said she believes that under the reign of King Norodom Sihamoni and theleadership of the Senate, the National Assembly and the Royal Government,Cambodia will continue maintaining its growth and stability during thenation-building process and enjoy higher role and position on the regional andglobal arenas.
Ngan congratulated Cambodia on successfully organizing the 40th anniversary of the victory over the Pol Pot genocidal regime (January 7, 1979).
Prime Minister Hun Sen said he is happy to meet Chairwoman Ngan again afterhis official visit to Vietnam in late 2018.
He asserted thatCambodia’s current development owes to support and assistance from Vietnam.
He said the two countries need to intensify cooperation to further theirtraditional friendship.
He informed his guest that he will chair the debut of the Asian CulturalCouncil to which he is the founding president.-VNA
