National Assembly begins question-and-answer session

Hanoi (VNA) – The 15th National Assembly began the question-and-answer session as part of its secondsitting on November 10.

The hearing, also the first of its kind held by the 15th legislature, is set to last for two and a half days,focusing on matters regarding health care; labour, invalids and social affairs;education and training; and planning and investment.

Ministers, heads of agencies and Deputy PrimeMinisters will appear at the session to clear up legislators’ concerns. PrimeMinister Pham Minh Chinh will also give further explanations and answer queriesto be raised by deputies.

Minister of Health Nguyen Thanh Long will be thefirst to be grilled by lawmakers, followed by Minister of Labour, Invalids and SocialAffairs Dao Ngoc Dung.

In his opening remarks at the Q&A session, NAChairman Vuong Dinh Hue highlighted the importance of the session to thesuccess of the second meeting, as well as the next hearings.

Deputies should select one or several issues of their most concern to raise at the session, he said, adding that each of them has only one minute to present questions while ministers have three minutesto clarify a matter, as stipulated in the law on supervisory activities of theNA and rules of the meeting.

At the end of the session that is broadcast live,the NA will issue a resolution on Q&A activities./.
