National Assembly to convene 7th session on May 20

The National Assembly will convene its 7th session on May 20, and conclude the session on June 14, the legislature’s General Secretary Nguyen Hanh Phuc said at a press conference on May 17.

Hanoi  (VNA) – The National Assembly will convene its 7th session on May20, and conclude the session on June 14, the legislature’s SecretaryGeneral Nguyen Hanh Phuc said at a press conference on May 17.

The sessionwill focus on law building, spending 12 working days on the work, said ViceChairman of the NA office Nguyen Manh Hung.   

The NA willspend two and a half days on Question-&-Answer activities, and theremaining time on socio-economic issues, the State budget, supervision work andother matters.

Thelawmakers are scheduled to consider and pass seven bills and two resolutions, anddebate nine other draft laws.

The NA isalso scheduled to consider and adopt a resolution approving the joining of theInternational Labour Organisation’s Convention 98 concerning the Application ofthe Principles of the Right to Organise and to Bargain Collectively.

ViceChairman of the NA Committee for Social Affairs Bui Sy Loi said the entirebasic content of the convention had been integrated into the 2012 Labour Code,and the NA will amend the remaining content to ensure the smooth enforcement ofthe convention.-VNA
