Over 3,000 people of different ages in traditional long dress (ao dai) joined a mass performance in Nguyen Hue pedestrian street on March 4, a highlight of the fifth Ho Chi Minh City Ao Dai Festival.

On the occasion, many secondhandao dai were given free to less fortunate women. Fifty poor students withoutstanding academic results also received scholarships.
In the morning of the same day,an exhibition “Ho Chi Minh City Charming Ao Dai” opened in District 1, displayingmore than 50 objects and various ao dai collections. The event will last tillMarch 31.
The festival, co-organised by themunicipal Tourism Department and the Women’s Union, has attracted more than 20 leadingdomestic ao dai designers with over 1,200 designs.
Up to 16 activities, includingfashion shows, talk shows and forums, will be held within the framework of thefestival which was designed to popularise traditional culture of ao dai toforeign friends.-VNA

Ho Chi Minh City will host its annual festival to honour ao dai (Vietnamese traditional dress), which is known as the symbol of feminine beauty in Vietnam, during March 3-25.
More than 200 ao dai (traditional long dress) tailor and accessory shops in Ho Chi Minh City will offer 10-50 percent discount to clients throughout March in response to the fifth Ao Dai festival.
Vietnam’s cinematic appeal lies in its diverse settings, from terraced mountains and limestone karsts to bustling markets and ancient towns. Its mix of ethnic vibes, buzzing street life, and old traditions gives directors a goldmine for storytelling.
The Vietnamese team will gather on June 26 in Ba Ria-Vung Tau, where they will train until July 14 before departing for Indonesia for the ASEAN U23 Championship 2025, which runs from July 15 to 29. Vietnam will face Laos on July 19 and Cambodia on July 22 in the group stage.
The exhibition showcases more than 100 valuable documents and artifacts, divided into two main parts: “Journalist Nguyen Ai Quoc – Ho Chi Minh” and “President Ho Chi Minh – Founder and Mentor of Vietnamese Revolutionary Press.” This is an opportunity to recall the late leader’s journalism journey and affirm his exceptional role in founding and guiding the revolutionary press in Vietnam.
For the first time, the World DanceSport Federation (WDSF) has granted Vietnam hosting rights for the two championships, including the Asian women’s solo category, which debuts this year as an officially recognised event.
Eight teams will join the tournament, divided into two groups. Group A features Vietnam, the Philippines, Sichuan Club (China), and Australia, while Group B consists of Vietnam U21, Korabelka Club (Russia), Taiwan (China), and U21 Thailand.

The U23 competition will run from June 16 to 22, followed by the U17 event from June 23 to 28, while athletes competing in the U23 category will undergo weight and skill checks ahead of the matches starting June 18, while similar checks for U17 athletes will take place before June 23.
