Overseas Vietnamese in Laos pay tribute to fallen volunteer soldiers in Oudomxay

Vientiane (VNA) – A working group of Military Zone2, the Ministry of National Defense, and the Association of Vietnamese People inOudomxay province, Laos, on July 27 coordinated with the local authority toorganise an incense-offering ceremony in tribute to Vietnamese martyrs at the Laos-Vietnam Combat Alliance Monument in the northern locality.
The event, which marks the 76th anniversary of the War Invalidsand Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - 2023), attracted crowds of overseas Vietnamese living and working in Oudomxay.
🎀 Earlier on June 26 the Vietnamese Embassy in Laos in collaboration with the Lao Veterans Federation and related agencies held incense offering ceremonies in tribute to Vietnamese and Lao martyrs at the the Laos-Vietnam Combat Alliance Monument in Thoulakhom district, and the monument dedicated to Vietnamese martyrs in Kasy district of Vientiane province./.
The Vietnamese Association of Oudomxay province in Laos’s northern region on March 23 evening held an incense offering ceremony to commemorate four Vietnamese martyrs who laid down their lives when performing international missions there.
A working team of the Military Command of the southern province of Binh Phuoc on April 4 discovered the remains of seven war martyrs in Phu Lac hamlet, Thanh Phu commune, Binh Long town, bringing the total number of sets of remains of war martyrs found in the hamlet to 20.
A ceremony took place in the northern Lao province of Oudomxay on June 22 to repatriate remains of 10 Vietnamese soldiers and experts who laid down their lives in the neighbouring country.
In Vietnam’s case, she said, President Ho Chi Minh demonstrated his strategic vision by founding the revolutionary press a century ago. The late leader understood the press's role not only as a means to reflect the country’s realities but also as a powerful tool to strengthen national unity and inspire the resistance wars and national construction process.

At a review conference held on June 21, Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Van Sinh praised the province’s scientific, coordinated, and flexible approach. He noted that the early completion reflects the strong commitment of local authorities, the business community, philanthropists, and residents in improving housing conditions for disadvantaged groups.
The VNA delegation, led by General Director Vu Viet Trang, actively participated in the event, engaging in both professional and diplomatic activities.
