OVs in Cambodia affected by floods receive support

PhnomPenh (VNA) –🍌 A delegation of Vietnam’s diplomatic representativeoffices and businesses in Cambodia on August 1 handed aid relief to overseasVietnamese and poor Cambodian people victimised by flooding in Kampon Speuprovince.
Thedelegation, led by Ambassador Vu Quang Minh, visited villages of OVs alongside MekongRiver in Peanichekam hamlet, Chbar Mon city, about 50km south of Phnom Penhcapital, which was severely affected by recent floods. Therelief were presented to 145 families hardest hit by the floods, with fundingcoming from the staff of the Embassy, the Consulate General and Vietnamesefirms in Cambodia. Speakingwith OVs and poor Cambodian people, Ambassador Minh said the Party, State andpeople of Vietnam are willing toassist flood-hit victims, helping them stabilise their lives. There are more than 100 households of poor OVsand Cambodian residents in Peanichekam hamlet in Kampong Speu province. The recent flooding isamong the largest in the area, causing great property losses to localpeople.-VNA
A ground-breaking ceremony for a school in Banlung commune of Ratanakiri province, 600km northeast of Cambodia’s capital Phnom Penh was held by the overseas Vietnamese community in the province on September 27.

At a review conference held on June 21, Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Van Sinh praised the province’s scientific, coordinated, and flexible approach.
