Kuala Lumpur (VNA) – Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan is due to make an official visitto Malaysia from November 20.

This is his first trip to the Southeast Asian country since he took office inAugust this year.

A statement from theMalaysia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the Pakistani leader will holdtalks with his Malaysian counterpart Mahathir Mohamad to review the bilateralpartnership and define new cooperation areas in the future.

The visit underlinesthe significance and importance Malaysia attaches to its relationship withPakistan, said the statement, adding that it will also be an opportunity forboth leaders to exchange views on a range of global and regional issues ofcommon concern.

Following the talks,the two leaders will witness the signing of an agreement on partial abolitionof visa between the two governments.

Malaysia and Pakistanhave enjoyed substantive and longstanding bilateral relations in the fields ofeducation, tourism, defence cooperation and technical assistance.
