Hanoi (VNA) – Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong welcomed Thongsavanh Phomvihane in his new ambassadorial role during a reception in Hanoi on November 26.
The Party chief hoped that the ambassador would continue to be a bridge for the two countries’ ministries, agencies and localities to share experience and support each other for mutual development.
He wished that Laos would successfully hold the 40th anniversary of National Day, the 95 th birth anniversary of President Kaysone Phomvihane and the 10 th National Party Congress, as well as fulfill its role as the ASEAN Chair in 2016.

Thongsavanh Phomvihane, for his part, vowed to spare no effort to strengthen the traditional friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.-VNA
Lao Ambassador to Vietnam Somphone Sichaleune has confirmed that he will continue to foster the special rapports between the two countries after accomplishing his working tenure in the country.
The outgoing Lao Ambassador to Vietnam was presented the insignia “For Peace and Friendship among Nations” in recognition of his contributions to enhancing the two countries’ relations.

President Truong Tan Sang welcomed newly-accredited ambassadors from Laos, the Republic of Ghana and the Republic of Macedonia who presented their credentials to the Vietnamese State leader.
The trip will be made at the invitations of Chinese Premier Li Qiang and WEF President and CEO Børge Brende, according to an announcement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Long spoke highly of the dynamic, positive, and comprehensive development of Vietnam – Russia relations in recent years.
