Hanoi (VNA) – Party General Secretary NguyenPhu Trong has urged leaders of Zhejiang province to boost exchanges andcooperation with Vietnamese localities, making practical contributions to thedevelopment of the Vietnam-China friendly and cooperative relations.
The Vietnamese Party leader made the recommendationwhile receiving Xia Baolong, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee ofZhejiang province, which is a stopover of his official visit to China fromJanuary 12-15.
Party General Secretary Trong said he was delighted tovisit Zhejiang province where boasts beautiful landscapes and culturaltraditions and President Ho Chi Minh visited many times.
He congratulated leaders and people of Zhejiang onoutstanding achievements in reform process, especially in pursuing a harmony ofsocial and economic development, developing State-owned enterprises, protectingthe environment, preserving and promoting cultural traditions, improving livingconditions for local people and accelerating international integration.
For his part, Xia briefed the Vietnamese delegationabout the province’s socio-economic development achievements and majororientations for the coming time as well as its cooperative ties withVietnamese ministries, sectors and localities.
He stressed that economic, trade, tourism andeducational cooperation between Zhejiang and Vietnamese localities aredeveloping fruitfully, adding the provincial authorities are willing tofacilitate these cooperative relations.
While in Hangzhou city, Party General Secretary Trong and the Vietnamese high-ranking delegationvisited the ancient town of He Fang, one of the city’s oldest and bestpreserved with unique characteristics at the end of Qing Dynasty.
