Party official receives President of Cambodian Senate Hun Sen

Hanoi (VNA) ᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚ- Politburo member and permanent member of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat Luong Cuong hosted a reception in Hanoi on July 25 for President of the Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) and President of the Cambodian Senate Hun Sen, who came to attend the state funeral of Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.
At the meeting, Cuong expressed his sincere thanks the CPP’s senior leaders, the King, the Senate, the National Assembly, and the Government of Cambodia for extending condolence messages and sending a high-ranking Cambodian delegation to attend the state funeral of the late leader, demonstrating the close relationship between the Parties, States, and people of Vietnam and Cambodia. He briefed the guests on the great contributions of General Secretary Trong to the Party, State, and people of Vietnam as well as to the Vietnam-Cambodia and Vietnam-Cambodia-Laos cooperation and solidarity.
He thanked Cambodia for its support and assistance to Vietnam so far, affirming that the Party, State and people of Vietnam will do their utmost to continue to realise the wishes of General Secretary Trong in preserving and fostering the traditional friendship, solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Cambodia, and pass them on to future generations.
Hun Sen hailed the great contributions of the late Party leader to the country and people of Vietnam, especially in raising Vietnam's position in the international arena and forging the friendship between the two countries, leaving valuable legacies for future generations.
He said that the passing of General Secretary Trong is a great loss to the Party, State and people of Vietnam as well as to the CPP and the people of Cambodia, affirming that Cambodia will always preserve and nurture the relationship between the two countries' Parties, States and people./.

Upon learning of the passing of General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee Nguyen Phu Trong, leaders of countries; ruling, communist, partner parties; international organisations and overseas Vietnamese (OV) communities have sent heartfelt messages and letters of condolences to the CPV Central Committee, President To Lam, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, the Vietnamese people and the family of the late leader.
President To Lam on July 13 afternoon left Phnom Penh, concluding his successful state visit to Cambodia at the invitation of King Preah Bat Samdech Preah Boromneath Norodom Sihamoni.
The trip will be made at the invitations of Chinese Premier Li Qiang and WEF President and CEO Børge Brende, according to an announcement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
